BTW, the £5m saving was targeted for FY ending June 25. Recruitment has gone into overdrive since - including replacing the school hub offices with resources on the Union payroll !

I don’t think that £6m per team is enough. What I’m proposing is that a model more like the prem, where the WRU provide £6m and the rest is made up from commercial revenue and owner investment.
The £6m should rise as WRU revenues grow too.

RFU gives £33m to 10 teams: £3.3m each, the rest is provided from commercials/owners
Rob Regan outlined WRU could provide £6m to 4 sides which is more than England. Simplified but surely worth a look 🤷🏼‍♂️

@Eddierugbyrugby @balders2 @ccurts2 I do think you can say they’re the same. The WRU presented aims, few glossy documents quickly followed; the last 5 months the details have been severely lacking, hiding behind confidentiality!!

The trust has gone as they also said 2 was the way forward and before that 4!
Whoever comes in needs to analyse the situation, be transparent and build trust.

@idris_richard @andy_harris75 I have a slightly different perspective. International matches generate the money & everything below plays a part in delivering international players of the future. Pro game hasn’t sustained itself since inception & recieves most of the proceeds from internationals.

@CraigosP1 I take some comfort in the reporting that the board have started questioning the direction of travel. Hopefully sense will prevail and they will pause and reflect just as Central Glamorgan recommended. We also has the work Rob Regan has started as a challenge to the thinking.

For 30 years or more Swansea has been losing out to Cardiff-based and Cardiff-centric bodies. @GlamCricket, @WelshGovernment, now @WelshRugbyUnion.

To the point where I would be quite happy to see @ospreys or @SwanseaRFC join the English system.
