We’re excited to share that in September, we’ll host a one-day meeting on the occasion of EASD2024 featuring leaders in the field exploring key questions in hypoglycemia research. Abstracts submissions are invited to be considered for a poster session and short talks.

People with type 1 diabetes (#T1D) have an impaired response to hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, which can lead to potentially dangerous complications. The underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood, and more research is needed in this area — better treatments could transform daily life for millions of people with T1D around the world.

This event will include a session on “Understanding and restoring alpha cell function in T1D and T2D: intrinsic, paracrine, and in vivo consequences in humans.” This session will be chaired by Shareen Forbes, MBChB, PhD, FRCP, from @EdinburghUni. It will feature talks from Dale Morrison, PhD, from @UniMelb, Quan Zhang, PhD, from @UniofOxford and @UnivdeCoimbra, and Michael Rickels, MD, from @PennMedicine. There will be opportunities for the audience to ask each speaker questions.
