@jose_river1978@neosatyan@NeoAnup The ABC3 study shows that experience matters to get significantly better outcomes (just as other medical procedures). All studies show that the procedure is safe, so there is actually no reason to separate mother and baby anymore. ^Rianne

Thank you very much @UHBCharity for raising the funds to make this possible and congratulations Heartlands Hospital @uhbtrust !
Today and tomorrow Concord Neonatal is attending the #BAPMSpringConference2025 in Leicester. Come and visit our booth to see the #ConcordBirthTrolley.
This amazing piece of equipment is our new Concord Birth Trolley, which is being funded by our Newborns in Need Appeal. Amazingly, it lets mum and baby together at birth, allowing for delayed cord clamping - which gives babies a huge head start in life. Delayed cord clamping, using this technology, can reduce the death rate of babies born under 28 weeks by a third.
Neonatal Consultant at Heartlands Hospital, Pinki Surana, said, “Concord Birth Trolley will allow us to aid the breathing of our preterm babies whilst they are still attached to the cord, which is so important to improve their survival and long-term developmental prospects. It also allows for mum to be with her baby in those very first moments rather than being whisked away for various procedures; this is so crucial for their bonding, promotion of breast-feeding and developmental care. We can’t thank Heartlands Hospital Charity enough for raising funds for such a vital, life-saving piece of equipment. Please donate what you can to support this appeal.”
A Spokesperson from @ConcordNeonatal, said: “Ten years from now, it will be hard to believe that parents and newborns were ever separated right after birth. With the implementation of the Concord Birth Flow and Trolley, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital is now offering newborns and parents the invaluable opportunity to stay connected after birth, a significant step toward better outcomes for many babies and their families. It’s truly inspiring to see their dedication to giving newborns the best start in life. Congratulations and welcome to our growing #ConcordCommunity.”

@EileenDudley10@BAPM_Official@EMNODN@Neonatalpsych@JacintaCordwell Thank you for sharing, what a great video. Amazing result to have an est. 35-52 neonates survive because of #DCC Beautiful to see the pictures of the cuddles.
With current innovations there is no need anymore to whisk any baby away from mom after birth and keep the cord intact.
After years of effort by Dutch hospitals, we are delighted that the #ABC3trial has been published.
The results reveal benefits for both parents and infant, further supporting PBCC as valuable and safe, aligning with the goal of #zeroseparation at #birth.

Last Friday, we visited The GIP study day in Brussels about the inevitable transition in obstetric and paediatric practice. It was great to speak with so many professionals, including a lot of midwives and learn more about their experiences with physiological-based cord clamping.
Curious about benefits of leaving the umbilical cord intact until a newborn is stable? Come meet @ConcordNeonatal in Vienna Sep11-13 at #ECPMcongress booth 11 @EUperinatal, to discuss the benefits of physiological-based cord clamping and how to implement it in your hospital.
