The @BYUMBB trio of Wright III, Chandler & Branch will not get quite the hype of Wright III, Saunders & Dybantsa but there won’t also be the preseason hype and scrutiny. @robertwr1ght will be an All American next season. @Big12Conference
I’m sick. We really wasted a generational talent that is AJ Dybantsa.
Thank you AJ for giving it everything every single game. Best talent BYU has ever seen and every game was amazing to watch him somehow overcome every double team opponents threw at him 🐐
Watching parts of the Pop Tarts bowl back.
INSANE coaching.
Jack Kelly Out, you adjust by making Nusi Taumoepeau a hybrid and giving Glasker some of Jack’s duties. A mix of unpredictable rushes and coverages. Gary Andersen and Jay Hill are genius.
This defense MUST BE RETAINED!
BYU 12+ win seasons:
1980 (12-1) with a junior Jim McMahon
1984 (13-0) with a junior Robbie Bosco
1996 (14-1) with a senior Steve Sarkisian
2001 (12-2) with a senior Brandon Doman
2025 (12-2) with a true freshman Bear Bachmeier against 12 P4 opponents
Pop Tart Bowl came down to a last second pick in the end zone in a 5 point game and I was like wow what a thriller ok time for what we really came here for, let’s start the human sized Pop Tart sacrifice. Pop Tart really cooked up something special with this one.
This BIG10 reffing crew has been sus today. Unnecessary roughness while player is still in bounds.
"The ones missed have gone against BYU" - Roddy Jones
TNT broadcast was unwatchable for the BYU game tonight.
Broadcast team talked a WHOLE LOT about BYU’s non-conference schedule being bad.
BYU has played the most Q1 & Q2 games in the entire country (7 total).
This is absolutely the right move. Getting embarrassed in a bowl game against BYU would be really hard on the program. Much smarter to avoid playing tough teams so you can keep your brand intact.
It’s gonna take the National Guard to take this team outta the playoffs. If the committee wants to steal it from us we’ll just take it on Saturday! #coachstays#ProvoDave
Having BYU behind ND makes college football figure skating or gymnastics. You don’t even need to play the games. It’s so dumb. BYU plays in a power conference. Tougher schedule. They have less losses and better wins. Ruins the whole sport. #provodave#byuscrewed
Sources: BYU coach Kalani Sitake has begun to inform people that he intends to stay at the school. BYU is in the process of putting together a lucrative contract to keep him. He's been one of main targets at Penn State, which he informed of his decision today.
It’s weird coming from a ridiculously deranged Utah fan like me rooting for Kalani to stick around, but what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
A strong BYU and a strong Utah make this state a true recruit destination for kids who want to be part of one of two elite football cultures, in the BEST place in the country to live, grow, get educated, and mature as young men.
Both programs come from the same roots and run on the same fuel: family, character, love, loyalty, and faith. That’s rare in college football, and it’s why the rivalry cuts deeper, because we’re far more alike than either side wants to admit; we're practical clones of each other led by alumni of both teams on different sides.
Yeah, the banter gets heated as it should and it can get ugly. It should be, it's what makes it unwholly fun. But now that we’re two boats tethered in the same bay, we rise or fall on the same tide. Kalani staying is good for the entire State of Utah football ecosystem. Continuity matters. Stability matters.
And because we play each other every year, whoever wins needs the loser to run the table the rest of the way; we’re judged by the reflection of each other’s success and failure. When one shines, the other’s résumé gets stronger, win or lose.
When more kids look at the State of Utah, not just one school, both programs benefit. More exposure. More national relevance. More stakes. More spotlight. And a deeper pool of players who want to be here. Who doesn't want to live in Utah, play in the Holy War against your friends, and enjoy cookies, ice cream, and Sunday brunch mimosas?
And finally, in this rigged CFP era, we really are birds of the same feather in the eyes of the judges deciding those playoff spots. If we want two Holy Wars a year to get two spots, or a Big 12 that sneaks three teams through the door, then both programs need to be elite at the same time. That’s the only path. Utah is the Team Up North & BYU is the Team Down South ala Ohio State & Michigan (it's actually a compliment that Urban thought that highly of Utah vs BYU that he compared us to OSU-UM).
We may beat each other once a year, but the other 11? We’re fighting the rest of college football together.
So, good morning to all, I hope that Kalani does the right thing and sticks around for a while.
Go Utes!
I arrived in Provo as a young man with @BNKonFOX not knowing what to expect. I was overwhelmed with all the love I received from Cougar Nation. From Cosmo to Kalani it was all love. From the ice cream to the dirty soda to the weird guy at the pizza shop it was all love. Coach Sitake danced his way into my heart. There is no place like Provo and Provo can’t exist without BYU football. And BYU football can’t exist without Kalani. And neither can #ProvoDave Stay Kalani Stay!
