@Natsecjeff Jews have historically lived as minorities, so their security has often depended on the wider political order.
The Christian world did some pretty nasty things to them. The Muslims gave them sanctuary. Now Israel panders to the very right wing Christians.
Oh the irony.
@hey_itsmyturn Strategy isn’t only about yesterday’s attacks; it’s about tomorrow’s balance of power. Saudi concern is also about being boxed into a regional order dominated by Israel.
“Render unto Caesar” (Matthew 22:21) distinguishes obligations to political authority from obligations to God; it does not say Christ invented modern secular liberalism, religious neutrality, individual autonomy or equal-rights doctrine.
And this creates a problem for your argument: if secularism is the Christian political ideal, on what specifically Christian authority do you oppose transgender rights? Once Caesar’s sphere is governed by secular liberal principles rather than divine law, you cannot simply invoke Christianity whenever liberal autonomy produces an outcome you dislike.
So which is ultimate: God’s moral law or secular individual freedom?
You’ve just proved my point. Your definition of “freedom” comes from Hayek, Friedman and Mises classical liberal/libertarian thinkers not from Jesus, the Bible or the Church Fathers.
You can oppose “woke” politics and still be a liberal. So which authority actually governs your worldview: Christian revelation or modern liberal philosophy?
@ChaosNexus@MarioNawfal Insults are not going to help you.
Are you serious? Your bio says “freedom” is it the secular woke liberal freedom huh.
Dumb fuxk.
Jews have historically lived as minorities, so their security has often depended on the wider political order.
Medieval Christian Europe saw repeated expulsions and persecution; many Muslim-ruled societies offered periods of protected, though unequal, status.
Today, equal rights in the West are grounded primarily in secular liberal constitutional law, not religious rule.
Yet today, parts of Israel’s political elite court right-wing evangelical movements whose support can be tied to conversionist and end-times theology—traditions emerging from a Christian history that did some pretty nasty things on Jews.
But sure go on pander to the right and create the Muslims as the bogeyman.
It will not end well for the Jews.
Prediction: Turkey and Pakistan will do nothing to defend Saudi Arabia from attacks by the regime in Iran or by the Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters.
This is a fake agreement.
@Shoshana51728 But yeah right wing evangelicals sure 👍
I sort of read right wing Christians did some nasty things to the Jews in the past.
Pandering to right wing Christians are we huh?
