๐จThe House of Representatives just voted to end Trump's war in Iran.๐จ
This disastrous war has put our service members in harm's way and made life even more expensive here at home.
I proudly voted to end this war โ and I'm calling on the Senate to pass this immediately.
The House for the first time approves a war powers resolution to halt military action against Iran in rebuke of President Trump's war. https://t.co/Lktzi7y8dM
Because of Trump's Iran war, U.S. oil supplies are now at their lowest levels in over 20 years.
That means gas prices may go even higher than they already are.
Americans can't afford this presidency.
Americans face more price increases as oil and gas inventories plunge to historic lows because of the war in Iran, energy executives and analysts warn.
Gas prices averaged more than $4.30 over the past month, according to AAA. https://t.co/s43vBzlmLj
Putin's brazen attack on the Ukrainian people cannot go unanswered, and America must provide Ukraine with what it needs to end this war.
My statement on Russia's recent attack, which killed innocent Ukrainian civilians, including children:
It's good that we've forced the administration to back down from Trump's slush fund for violent criminals, but we can't stop until there is no pathway for this to ever happen again.
Republicans should join me and my colleagues to make such a slush fund illegal.
NEW: Acting AG Todd Blanche asked in House hearing about DOJ's plans for the anti-weaponization fund
"We're not moving forward with the fund. Period."
Not moving forward, ever?
"Correct."
Projects like the Rail Park in Philadelphia are evidence of what can happen when you put a vision โ and federal dollars โ to work.
I'm proud to play a part in bringing our neighborhoods together, and I won't stop here.
Republicans already sent prices skyrocketing and slashed health care for millions of Americans.
Now, they want to double down by drowning people with deadly conditions in more paperwork.
It doesn't get much more cruel than kicking cancer patients off their health care.
Hassett: "People are spending more on gas, but they're also spending more on everything else -- not just groceries, but restaurants and so on. I think that's a sign you see when people are optimistic about the future."
For $100 billion, we could extend affordable health care tax credits for years.
But Trump and Republicans are spending it on a war with Iran while driving up costs and evaporating Americans' savings.
Trump knows Americans are paying the price for his war, but he doesn't care.
$100 billion. Thatโs our estimate of the cost of the Iran War to American households. Thatโs nearly $750 per household. This includes the additional U.S. military costs and the higher energy and other prices resulting from the war. This is a big economic blow, but deficit-financed tax cuts have cushioned it. Until now. As of May 16th, the bigger tax refunds Americans have received this year no longer cover the higher costs of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel caused by the war. The financial pressure is thus mounting quickly, particularly on already hard-pressed middle and lower-income households. With the saving rate about as low as it ever goes, unless the war ends soon and energy prices come down, they will have little choice but to rein in their spending, weighing further on the already sagging economy.
I will always stand side by side with my LGBTQ friends and neighbors. Happy Pride Month to everyone celebrating here in Philadelphia and across America!
Russia has once again shown its blatant disregard for innocent civilian lives and the sovereignty of its neighbors.
My full statement on a Russian drone striking a Romanian apartment building:
The Rail Park is a physical manifestation of when you have vision and put it to work.
I'm proud to have secured $2 million to expand the Rail Park here in Philadelphia, which will continue to strengthen and reconnect our beautiful city and its neighborhoods.
While Trump is busy building a ballroom for his billionaire donors, Americans are being forced to pay the price for his Iran war.
Today's inflation numbers are just more evidence of Trump's utter contempt for working Americans.
"If an economic policy will make life harder for American families, you can count on President Trump to try it."
Ranking Member @CongBoyle on today's inflation data:
Trump isn't draining the swamp โ he's just wasting taxpayer dollars putting a new coat of paint on it.
Forever growing costs and delays on government projects are exactly what's wrong with Washington, and Trump is making things even worse.

If it felt like things were even more expensive this Memorial Day, you weren't imagining it:
Gas: +28%
Flights: +21%
Beef: +15%
Hot Dog: +11%
Soda: +4%
Tools/Hardware: +5%
Everything from cookouts to weekend projects costs more thanks to Trump's disastrous policies.
Trump only cares about his billionaire ballroom and his slush fund for violent criminals who assaulted police on January 6th.
I'm laser-focused on what Americans actually care about: getting costs down.
Memorial Day honors those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
Today, we come together as Americans to honor their service, and ensure their memory is never forgotten.
Republicans ran home early this week because they know how unpopular their agenda is.
Americans don't want endless foreign wars, taxpayer money for Trump's ballroom, slush funds for violent criminals, and tax breaks for billionaires, all while costs skyrocket.
