The potential collapse of social media apps (Twitter, Discord, etc.) will be due to the nastiness that one can find on it and how people’s gut reaction is to mean before they’re nice. At a certain point people will see no point being on social media if everything is negative.

The whole “if they bother you so much then get off of them” defense will come full circle. The stupid thing about this defense is that the argument seems to imply it’s harder to be nice than mean and humans are inherently cruel.

I shouldn’t have to say this, but it’s very rude to say that in the first place. Many streamers genuinely want to create a safe place for people and put a lot of weight on themselves when no one is talking. They take it personally and feel like they failed when they shouldn’t.

It’s always amusing when someone makes a snarky post in a #Discord server about it being dead or inactive when that same person never posts or chats in it.

With that being said, there are plenty of times when the streamer does try to create a dialogue or conversation and no one responds. So if you’re upset or want to make a joke about the server being “dead” then that’s on you.
