The Connecticut Office of Policy and Management is the Governor's staff agency for budget proposals and implementation as well as state and municipal policy.
We’re putting a special emphasis on addressing teacher shortages.
From accelerating and prioritizing teacher recruitment to supporting apprentice teachers, the most important education reform is having a great teacher in the classroom.
Our budget increases education cost sharing by $135 million. That’s in addition to the $720 million in federal resources still to be invested in education over the next two years.
This will only help us improve what are some of the best schools in the nation.
The income tax rate in Connecticut hasn’t been reduced in nearly 30 years. I want to change that.
Today, I will announce a proposal to cut income taxes for the middle class and working families.
Two-thirds of personal bankruptcies are caused by medical debt.
The budget that I will present to the legislature next week includes a provision that has the potential to cancel billions in medical debt for thousands of Connecticut residents.

The CT Interagency Drought Workgroup voted today to remove from Stage 1 the counties of Fairfield, Harford, Litchfield, and New Haven. The entire State is now out of drought stage.
