Time for a shakeup at @ElectionsAB. The organization is neither non partisan nor independent, and the entire leadership team needs to be purged and replaced in order to restore faith in our democratic mechanisms.

After a decade of collapsing living standards, out-of-control government spending, reckless mass immigration, rising inflation and economic decline, Canadians went to the polls.

They voted for more of the exact same.

That is the reality Alberta conservatives need to confront.

Most Canadians do not fundamentally believe Canada is broken.

They do not share Alberta’s priorities, and they are not about to change direction anytime soon.

Outside Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canada voted further toward the left than California did.

There is currently no credible path to restoring responsible government from within Confederation.

The only viable path on the table is independence, so Albertans can take back control of our government, our prosperity and our future.

A healthy democracy depends on election officials applying the law impartially, consistently, and without favour.

When the pro-independence side faces intense scrutiny while Lukasuk's Foreever Canadian campaign is given a free pass to solicit out-of-province donations, exceed contribution limits and conceal its donors, public confidence in @ElectionsAlberta is inevitably lost.

The Chief Electoral Officer and his officials must restore equal enforcement immediately—or resign.

We think of this evil as Marxism. In reality, Marxism is nothing more or less than the current instantiation of a much more ancient evil: possession by the envious and hateful spirit that drove Cain to murder his brother Abel.

The great book of Genesis thus portrays mankind as riven by an eternal fratricidal conflict.

Those who reject genuine sacrifice become embittered by their subsequent failure ("rejection by God").

Instead of repenting and changing, they turn to revenge.

And who do they target? Those who strive to do well and offer what is best.

I can't believe how much wisdom the author of Genesis 4 compressed into that story's few sentences. You might even come to believe that God Himself had a hand in it.

Truly: it's uncanny. The first two human beings born into history are, respectively, a good, honest productive man and his brother, who allows himself to be consumed by resentment and the desire to destroy.

@monsterhunter45 David Weber using our region in his Out of the Dark series (a surviving area, about all left of Canada) is about the only time I've seen Alberta show up in fiction. And we are quite compatible as actual allies to the US.

@monsterhunter45 Really random question. Are you aware of the Alberta Independence movement? We actually have the first step to a referendum to leave Canada this Oct. I'd love to see it included as a plot point in a novel sometime. If we actually leave, Sask likely comes with us; a new country.
