But let’s be fair.

Taylor Lewan was with the UM program for 5 years.

His Wolverine legacy should not be defined by 1 ugly episode.

What about all the good?

Who could forget his 2-8 record vs. MSU & OSU?

The 2 wins were impressive, too…

WIN 1:
A 6-point win at home against Interim Luke Fickell & his merry band of walk-ons. 😲

WIN 2:
A 2-point win at home against 6-loss MSU with all UM points off field goals using an ineligible kicker. 🤯

When he wasn’t barely beating interim coaches and allegedly threatening the rape victims of ineligible teammates, Lewan lost a lot of football games.

But don’t worry, the Michigan Man was always gracious in defeat.

Who could forget the day he lost to Ohio State in Ann Arbor, then went to the Brown Jug to blow off steam?

Look, I’m not thrilled he started a fight and assaulted a guy half his size.

But that Ohio State fan he put in the hospital shouldn’t have been standing there.

Poor Lewan.

All of America was certain he would be suspended at least 1 game for hospitalizing an innocent bystander.

But don’t worry, he wasn’t punished.

Michigan not only dressed Lewan, he led the team onto the field for the B-Dubs Bowl!

What a tribute to this great man.

I still get emotional when I think of Lewan’s final game vs. MSU.

It was much closer than the 29-6 score.

I’ll admit, a left tackle watching his QB get annihilated for 3 hours (7 sacks!) is a bad look.

The “-48 rushing yards” stat wasn’t great, either.

But did you see our boy (310 lbs) violently yanking the face mask of a defenseless Isaiah Lewis (200 lbs) after yet another MSU sack?

Can’t say that guy didn’t have guts!

If you get the chance, I highly recommend the ESPN broadcast.

We don’t have time to reminisce about the other 4 times Lewan tried to injure an MSU player that day, but ESPN covered each of them in detail!

I’m not making that up.

5 incidents!

Look, I get it.

I know allegedly threatening to rape a rape victim for reporting her rape was not Taylor Lewan’s finest Ann Arbor hour.

But please consider the entire Lewan legacy before you judge this great man.
