On April 27, 1961, Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke at the UAW 25th anniversary convention in Detroit. Before an audience of more than five thousand UAW members, MLK spoke words that remain entirely too relevant today… a thread 1 #UAWStrike@MLKInstitute
Knock, knock. Is this thing on? This summer @madebyhistory took a short pause, but we are back — and thrilled to announce our new publication partner, @TIME@TIMEHistory. 🥳🎉🤩❤️
I stand today for people who have challenged racism + unfair decision making only to be given non-reappointments. The way forward is collective action. We aren’t going anywhere until we achieve #TheVTWeDeserve.

SOME PERSONAL NEWS: Today marks the end of an era — it is the last day of @madebyhistory at @washingtonpost. Six years ago we launched MBH with a mission to get smart history to more readers, and to inform and shape conversations about past and present.
My very first exhibition at the National Museum of American History opens on July 5th! It's called Reconstructing Weatherbreak: Geodesic Domes in an Age of Extreme Weather. Come watch us build one of the earliest such architectural marvels in the world inside the museum!
“Shadow of the New Deal” is featured at @NewBooksNetwork today. This is cool in itself. Even cooler, my interview is listed under the category of “General History.”
