Hocker made a move to the front with 600m to go, but Fisher was able to come back on the home straight and take the win. The OHSAA has announced the expansion of divisions in cross country and track beginning with the 2025-26 school year.

Cross country will move to 4 divisions and track will move to 5 divisions with the top division having a smaller number of schools, similar to other sports
