2024: My year in sports - a thread 🧵
In 2023, I documented every sporting event I went to and shared it with you.
I intended to do the same in 2024, but I was not disciplined enough and forgot to take pictures at several events I went to.
However, here’s what I do have!
2023: My year in sports - a thread 🧵
Every sporting event I attended this year (excluding events I coached in)

@SCOTTLAKE0 I know you didn’t mean it as a dig!
And you’re absolutely right.
But they have far stronger interest from their fanbase than literally every school in the new PAC12 aside from BSU.
It’s not a MW problem the way I see it. It’s a football in the west problem.
@JFarling1887@FabrizioRomano Shakhtar Donetsk will have UCL trophies in the stadium they play their UCL home matches in.
Arsenal cannot boast the same.. 🤔
@GCU_Logan@BattleCattleFan@BradenTClark I just think 80% of “coaching” in college basketball, especially these days, is recruitment (most coaches would agree).
Development seems to be a back-burner item. Culture, principles, and game management are the remaining 20%.
@BattleCattleFan@BradenTClark But how can you say “resource merchant” if he’s doing exactly what’s expected of him?
Plus, don’t neglect, GCU had to build a roster for the MW without being certain as to whether or not they would be in any conference.
I think it’s fair to have ?s about Drew, but not this.
@BattleCattleFan@BradenTClark But we literally made the tournament 3 straight years (and 4 of 5), and only one time did we actually have a first round matchup that was actually winnable, and we won it.
Do I think we dropped a few games here and there in a couple of those seasons that cost us a seed? Maybe.
@ElChibo@darkclaymore422 We might be hearing things from different people. Because I’ve never heard anyone in the U.S. who is for pro/rel claim that their local club will make it to the top tier.
Luton was level five, not below level. Splitting hairs, sure.
@ElChibo@darkclaymore422 Such a disingenuous claim.
Wanting a path for the 9th tier club to make it to the top does not mean anyone EVER expects it. In fact, I’d be shocked if a club below the 5th tier of English football had ever made it to the top.
