They want to be the boss, but not the employer. If we let Amazon and other corporations propagate this model, we are going to seriously undermine the right of workers to organize, fight for better, and hold these companies accountable.
This is the fight of the working class.
Amazon sets the routes, the quotas, the uniforms, the cameras — and then tells workers they don't actually work for Amazon. Every delivery worker in this city should be able to afford to live here and have their rights respected.
Workers deserve better.
I’m so proud of my brothers and sisters who have fought this long and hard to get where we are. The fight is far from over, but we’ve built an incredible movement and unstoppable worker power across the country.
We will keep fighting and we will win. Let’s keep making history!!
Four years ago today, Amazon workers made history at JFK8. We proved that even one of the most powerful corporations in the world can be challenged by workers standing together.
Today, the NLRB has once again affirmed that Amazon must recognize our union and negotiate.
Amazon is trying to reinstate pre-COVID cellphone restrictions but they can’t erase the past. In 2021, workers at an Amazon warehouse in Illinois died when they couldn’t get alerts, call 911, or reach loved ones. Cellphones save lives. We won’t let Amazon take them away.
Our union doesn’t endorse candidates per our bylaws, but officers can.
As President of ALU-IBT Local 1, it’s my honor to endorse @ZohranKMamdani to be our next mayor!
Zohran is a friend and an incredible ally to our movement. Let’s keep fighting for working people!!
First time at DSA convention, I’m proud to endorse Alex Pellitteri for DSA co-chair and proud to be fighting with him to bring more Amazon workers into our movement!!
Raw sewage backed up into work areas at JFK8--not the first time, too. This, combined with the heat, made it unbearable to work in the stench and is absolutely unsafe. Amazon needs to start acting quickly to send workers home in these conditions. @amazonlabor@amazonteamsters

Trader Joe’s unlawfully terminated our union sibling Jamie Edwards, whose organizing contributions were instrumental in unionizing the first TJ’s store in the U.S.

Time and time again, we have to make these posts. Amazon could have worked with us years ago to fix this. People who are gone now could still be here.
It's exhausting, but it's a reminder. We can't afford to stop fighting. No matter how long, how tiring, we absolutely must win.
We’re heartbroken over the loss of one of our coworkers. Our deepest condolences go out to their loved ones.
This tragic loss of life was preventable, and we demand transparency to know what went wrong in the process so we can push for real solutions that prioritize our safety.
These last few days have been some of the most amazing of my life. Out on strike, standing side by side in the blistering cold with my brothers and sisters as we fight for a better world.
Amazon is coming to the table whether they like it or not. Our movement is unstoppable!
The @NLRB has denied @Amazon’s appeals to our 2022 union certification election. Amazon has ignored its legal obligation to bargain with the workers of JFK8 but we’re done waiting! They continue to abuse us but we’re ready to fight back.
Here’s a thread to catch you up🧵
Perfect, just in time for us to ramp up the fight inside. You’ve got a lot to answer for, Amazon. And you’ll be doing it sitting across the table from the rank-and-file workers you’ve been abusing since Day One.
BREAKING NEWS: The Amazon Labor Union has fully and officially completed its affiliation with the Teamsters Union, following a ruling on Thursday from the National Labor Relations Board rejecting outstanding objections by Amazon.
ALU members at Amazon’s JFK8 fulfillment center voted this summer by over 98% to affiliate with the Teamsters.
The ruling further establishes ALU-IBT Local 1, a newly chartered local union of the Teamsters, as the representative for 5,500 Amazon warehouse workers at JFK8 on Staten Island. Local 1 will have jurisdiction to organize and represent Amazon workers throughout New York’s five boroughs — and will carry the full power and resources of the 1.3 million-member Teamsters Union to take on the trillion-dollar corporation.
The decision by the NLRB arrives just hours before Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien, U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff, rank-and-file Amazon Teamsters, UPS Teamsters, and other supporters and legislators rally in California to hold Amazon accountable to the hundreds of thousands of delivery drivers and warehouse workers it employs.
Watch live the “Amazon Teamsters Day of Solidarity” Rally starting at 6:45pm ET / 3:45pm PT!
