STATEMENT FROM DONNY🔔
During yesterday’s match against our local rivals, Croydon, an opposition supporter shouted, “Where’s Old Skool now?” — referring to my late father.
Anyone who has attended local non-league derbies understands that banter between opposing fans is part of the game. The key word, however, is banter.
To stoop so low as to insult someone’s deceased family member & then run away is both cowardly and classless. I thank God that he did run, because in that moment, I was at risk of jeopardising everything my father and I built together over the past ten years.
I want to make it clear to all of my people: if you see this individual, do not approach him, and do not resort to violence. Men like him take pleasure in seeing Men far greater than themself lose control and fall.
After praying on it last night, I’ve decided to forgive him. However I do not seek an apology. I also want to thank Gav, the chairman of Croydon FC, who personally called to apologise. This individual’s actions do not reflect Croydon FC a club I respect greatly.
As men in the public eye, looked up to by the younger generation, we have a responsibility to carry ourselves with dignity, morals, and respect in a time where these fundamentals have been lost.
I consider the matter closed. God bless you all even my enemies.
