This sort of guilt tripping is a disgrace.
The GAA or a club or no county owns a player.
Those players don’t owe anyone anything. It’s hilarious hypocrisy to go on about “amateur association “ and volunteerism if you expect pay back from talented players. Just insane.
There is nothing they can do and any attempts to curtail it would be against EU law.
Why not frame it as a success and a tribute to how well everyone does helping them come through to be excellent athletes?
