AFRICAN SAVANNA HARE
African savanna hares are solitary, nocturnal animals whose ears have black tips, their head and body is greyish-brown. They rely on camouflage to stay hidden, can run at up to 70 kph and sometimes leap vigorously sideways to break the scent trail they leave.
THE LEOPARD
Thanks to its solitary and nocturnal lifestyle, this striking camouflaged animal is often hard to observe in the wild. Leopards can run at speeds of up to 58km/hour and hunt for medium sized prey.
NILE CROCODILE
The Nile crocodile is the largest freshwater predator in Africa. It is an opportunistic ambush predator that can wait for hours, days, and even weeks for the suitable moment to attack almost any animal within its range. #TheNile#Uganda
WARTHOGS
Warthogs are a wild species of swine often referred to as “Pumba” from the animation Lion King. They can be found in Uganda’s Savannah national parks in small groups called sounders, each led by a dominant male. #UgandaWildlife#UgandaTourism
CRESTED PORCUPINE
The crested porcupine is a species of rodent whose body is covered with bristles which are either dark brown or black. when disturbed, they raise and fan their quills to make themselves look bigger, stamp their feet and charge the disturbed. #UgandaWildlife
GREAT BLUE TURACO
It is the largest species of turaco which grows to 70–76 centimeters. The turaco is actively hunted for meat and feathers with its blue and yellow tail feathers prized for making good luck charms. It is common in central Uganda around forested areas.
