Conservatives for Hospitality is an advisory group advocating pro-growth, pro-business policies to strengthen and unleash the hospitality and tourism sector.
Hospitality is united that #VATsTheProblem. A new sector-wide campaign, spearheaded by @ChefTomKerridge, is calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.
Hospitality pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support the sector. Sign the petition today 👇

@HuddlestonNigel Totally agree @HuddlestonNigel - it’s why our party has got to get behind a VAT cut as other major parties have now done!
The @Conservatives are the natural party of SMEs - and our sector wants the Conservatives to fight for a VAT cut that would save British jobs and businesses.
A VAT cut will save British Hospitality.
I don’t care which political party you are in. If you support a VAT cut, you’re on the side of our industry.
We need a VAT cut now.
“Slash VAT & Business Rates.”
That’s the message from Andy Burnham at #NTES26
2 million UK jobs depend on hospitality - yet venues are still closing.
Europe backs its sector. The UK must too.
Support a VAT cut in line with Europe.

Reform just aren’t serious.
Their Treasury Spokesman doesn’t even know the detail. Clearly hasn’t read the paper.
He should have. He would have then seen it isn’t costed and won’t be delivered.
The @Conservatives must immediately outline a plan to cut VAT that’s fully costed.
Starmer and Reeves both hate hospitality.
We now understand the motivation behind their cruel tax hikes on our pubs, cafes & restaurants.
They want them gone. Bastards.
Well we want Starmer & Reeves gone. Labour MPs must do the right thing for hospitality and the Country.
Read this...it'll make your blood boil.
One of the Governments senior Advisers finally admits:
"We don't need anymore restaurants. I'm not anti-hospitality but that's not where my efforts are."
They are no longer hiding it from us.

@CLHNews@wonky_table@RishiSunak Exactly the point I made. The 12.5% rate enabled me to open a second fish & chips shop - in 3 years has created dozens of more well paid jobs and hundreds of thousands of extra tax revenues. A VAT cut is a no brained to unleash economic growth & jobs.
@CLHNews@wonky_table Let’s not forget that it was @RishiSunak who brought in the lower, albeit temporary, VAT cut.
But I agree. Conservatives should have delivered a permanently lower VAT rate for Hospitality & Tourism.
@ConsHospitality is committed to making the case for a permanent VAT cut.
OUR PLAN FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
1 Cut the number of places on poor value uni courses.
2 Use the savings from this to free graduates from the interest rate treadmill & deliver 100,000 more apprenticeships a year.
3 Let people keep the first £5k of tax they'd have paid on starting work.
This is what happens when you tax the hell out of hospitality businesses.
The pubs, cafes and fish & chip shops that for years kept youngsters employed - giving them a chance and experience of the world of work.
Young people aren’t working because Labour isn’t working.
Massive levels of youth unemployment a direct consequence because of Labour’s decisions.
A permanent VAT cut for Hospitality businesses would reverse this.
Unleashing growth. Creating jobs. Boosting local economies and high streets.
The UK historically avoided Europe’s high youth unemployment.
Under Labour 1 in 6 young people want a job but can’t find one.
You can create new rights, you can raise minimum wages and taxes, but you can’t force businesses to hire. Only the private sector creates jobs.
Hospitality businesses don’t want subsidy. We just want to keep more of the money that we earn to breathe, grow and create jobs.
Labour is killing off the sector.

We’re proud that @griffitha launched @ConsHospitality last year.
We’re working closely with him and @HuddlestonNigel to make sure that the Conservatives have a plan to unleash hospitality.
That will mean more jobs. Stronger businesses. And a stronger economy.
🗞️ The two Labour figures, tipped as potential rivals in a future leadership contest, suggested the Prime Minister should cut VAT to ease pressure on struggling businesses

Chairman of CFH @cdonnithorne1 promoting hospitality and tourism SMEs at @Conservatives South West Conference.
“We will only build a stronger South West when we unlock the opportunity of home ownership and unleash hospitality & tourism through cutting business rates & VAT.”
The @Conservatives have shaped out the start of a bold, costed plan for Hospitality & Tourism.
✅ Scrapping business rates for high street shops, pubs & cafes.
👇🏼 But we’ve got to go further & deliver a costed plan to cut VAT - unleashing the sector to grow & create jobs.
