Consent forms in hospitals are a little bit like someone walking in front of a car with a red flag. As relevant as that rule was at the start of motorized travel, eventually it proved ridiculous. This is were we are with consent forms. We just need to stop.
Patient consent forms may provide some assistance to doctors defending an allegation of battery under the general doctrine of consent. Most difficulties however centre around negligence & informed consent. Docs need to discuss material risks. Forms are of little added value.

@illonaduffy Thanks Illona. Delighted to offer support. I agree that there should be more electronic support. As the vaccination program moves into younger, more populated age groups the email aspect will become less relevant & the efficiency of an e-consent platform will be more compelling.
