@andewanderer @n8ture_al They are, but in a lot of western countries Black and other minority ethnic people are more likely to live in cities than in rural areas
@andewanderer @n8ture_al Speaking from my own experience, Ilit's more that activities like birdwatching, hiking, camping etc. are seen as "not for black people".
I'm a coral reef and invasion ecologist. I was born and raised in The Bahamas but I study in Canada. I'm happiest around water, particularly the ocean. #BlackInNature#BlackAFinSTEM

Hey y’all I’m Alex and coincidentally my last name is Troutman and I’m a wildlife Biologist ! As a part of #BlackBirdersWeek with #BlackAFinSTEM today I’ll be showcasing #blackinNature form my perspective. To start off here are two species I’ve worked with so far
From young, I fostered a deep and abiding love for the natural world.
Exploring landscapes; appreciating the beauty of all life through my parents.
Now, I research how #rewilding our land with keystone species can help wildlife to thrive

It's amazing how far climate change denying rhetoric has come in the last few years. From "It's a hoax" to "It's not that serious, stop overreacting", to my new favourite "It's all China's fault!"
Looking forward to presenting the results of our survey at the #YoungNatureUK symposium tomorrow! Our full report can be found at https://t.co/ot3YpSkIYx
