The Woman King has an average/bad score on imdb, atrocious scores on letterboxd and metacritic and pretty much on most rating sites, but has a near perfect score from thousands of "people" and critics on Rotten Soldmatoes. And that's just 1 movie example. There, it has better ratings than some of the best movies ever made. One of the (unofficial) costs when making movies besides of course its production cost, is the paying for reviews. Where's my review and the reviews of my friends for The Odyssey?

Worldwide finished ticket gross: $750M

Universal’s estimated 45% theatrical receipts: $337.5M

Nolan’s total 15% entitlement: $50.6M

Additional backend payment owed to Nolan: $30.6M

Revised total cost after Nolan’s extra backend: $430.6M

Universal finished theatrical receipts: $337.5M

Remaining theatrical shortfall: $93.1M

Theatrical shortfall of around $94M means they have to gross MUCH higher than $850M you mongol.

Nolan is entitled to a huge 15%+ share of Universal's end share which makes it even worse not to mention Emily Wilson's share.

Insurances, marketing, campaigns, backends, residuals, dubbings, PR, distribution costs and much more are not free.

If you think the studios just put on the movie making/production costs and the rest are given to them for free you're a dumbfck.

If you think week 1 earnings from domestic equals same earnings from X country you're even more of a dumbfck.

And so on, and so on.

300 x 2.5=750? Your iq is lower than a room's temp in Alaska and it's summer and why tf do you vs me against him? We share opinions on X, not enforce them. Many movies that achieve 2.0-2.5x their PRODUCTION budget at the box office lose money theatrically. Unless you also factor for the entire long cycle of a movie after theater run which includes bd sales, streaming rights, tv rights, official items sales etc. Its a 400M total cost movie it's not fckn Robin Hood. Movie budget aka production cost is one thing and all the other MANY costs another thing and they are not given to the studios for free. I.e. insurances, marketing, campaigns, backends, residuals, dubbings, PR, distribution costs and much more. I'm sure you will also think that non domestic and chinese theaters will give you the same percentage studio-theater share as domestic and that the week 1 share is the same as week 3+ no matter what.

First, i don't believe the costs besides production are only $125M for this "movie". It doesn't make sense. Also, you forgot to mention Nolan's share of 15-20% of Universal’s gross end theatrical revenue.
I.e. for $400M complete cost excluding various future costs:

Therefore they need to finish on MUCH more than $750M gross worldwide unless a miracle happens and they make all the money they need on the first 1-2 weeks which are the most profitable. Also, non domestic theater share ≠ domestic theater share. And its 3rd week starts around Spiderman's WW release.

worldwide ticket gross: 800m
universal receives 330–400m after theaters
nolans 17%: around 60m. the movie cost 400m+. 800m ≠ 800m to studios.
