As children embrace live streaming and real-time content creation, it’s important they understand that what they share can reveal more than they intend. Teach them to protect their privacy by turning off location services, avoiding identifiable backgrounds, and thinking before they go live.
📍 Disable location tags and GPS
👕 Avoid wearing school uniforms or identifiable clothing
🎥 Stream against neutral, unidentifiable backgrounds
A few simple precautions can make a big difference in keeping children safe online.

Today marks the start of the 3rd National Preparatory Committee Meeting for the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference 2027 (WRC-27). Which brings together experts across fields, including industry leaders, academics, operators, and government representatives.
The World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) happens every four years and is organised by the International Telecommunication Union Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R). At this conference, countries review and update the rules that govern the use of radio frequencies and satellite positions around the world.
As the demand for radio frequencies grows for services such as mobile phones, satellite communications and more, countries must prepare thoroughly at all levels, internationally, regionally, and nationally before each conference.
Such discussions ensure that future decisions on wireless technologies support innovation, improve connectivity, and deliver better communication services for all Ugandans.

I witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and operational licence agreement between the Uganda Communications Commission and Starlink, marking an important step towards the commencement of their operations in Uganda.
Our interest is security, revenue assurance, and proper accountability within the telecommunications sector so that we know who is operating and who the customers are. I am pleased that Starlink has agreed to comply with Uganda’s laws and regulatory requirements as it prepares to begin service delivery in the country. I wish them good luck.
