With the co-opting and rendering meaningless messages like "love is love" and "black lives matter" by the Dem party, it is possible to see how people would think "free Gaza" has it's place within that tent, but it such a threat to the core tenants of the party.
@TheTumboy Many of my favorite soul and doo-wop songs were re-recorded with the CD era gold rush as many of the groups/artists had contracts that royally screwed them over. I supported them getting that bag, but all the new versions were dogshit. It's hard to recapture the magic.
I'm not saying that music has not been without inspired or great songs since 2000. However, sonic boundaries and new trends get broken at a much slower pace. Everything feels like an homage to a bygone era.
The wider lens of history will view the end of tangible music media as also the end point of what will be viewed as the recorded music era. The Internet has usurped the position that music once had in youth culture. The music is the background to that, no longer the focal point.
Music executives tell Billboard that they are worried and depressed as the industry struggles to find big artist breakthroughs, noting Olivia Rodrigo and Ice Spice as the last recently successful ones.
“Nobody knows how to break music right now… Each person I talk to in the industry is more depressed [about this] than the person I talked to before them”
My dude, you are not having trouble acquiring data due to people in hysteria, people are in hysteria due to state and corporate power holders withholding and obfuscating life and death data.
Both the Ohio spill and long COVID have the exact same issue where it’s difficult to get information about a real and bad thing due to a group of people who have made screaming that it’s an apocalyptic event their new identity.

Indiana Jones 5 opens in less than a year. It's hard for me to imagine any Indy sequel topping the excitement and energy of Temple of Doom.

@non_pacifist@Quirknky I've seen too many times before where AOC is used as a pressure release by the Dem party and speaks genuine leftist sentiments when their voter base is visibly upset but she never leverages anything past the rhetorical and she never strays too far out of favor with the party.
