@farmingandJesus For the sake of argument, what happens if he's right? What if his wife actually does respect him, is happy, and calls him "sir" out of real respect for him? Is she being sinned against? Is Brian in sin in that scenario?
You could actually go listen to the whole episode before you slander your brothers in Christ again.
Or better yet, I'm confident that you have methods of communication with them that the rest of us don't have the luxury of having, so maybe pick up the phone and get clarity from them yourself instead of leaving a record of ignorant, or maybe intentional, public slander.
That, IMO, is what a reasonable brother would do.
@RightWingWatch Look at the fruit.
Their families and wives are happier than most because they have husbands that actually want to protect them from dangers both physical and ideological.
Except that Christ is Lord and the religion of the Taliban is demonic and false and requires actual murder of any who don't believe likewise.
Minor distinction, I know.
The Bible actually has guard rails against the kind of abuse people are accusing, with no positive evidence I may add, these men of.
Maybe do a little more digging that just the curated sound bites from the OP.
@DoritoBoland85@RightWingWatch Any positive proof of this claim? Or are you just going to sinfully slander two men that you know literally nothing about their personal and home life?
If Brian is innocent in this, which for the sake of argument let's assume he is, then why on earth would he ever encourage men to do something that he himself is convinced is deeply sinful?
I'm not trying to be insulting here, but you need to use your brain a little and think logically about this.
If a man takes Brian's advice and abused it, then it's not Brian's fault that that man abused and distorted that advice.
If Brian WAS inciting men to abuse their wives by brute force control over them and then those men proceed to abuse their wives in that way, then both men would be in sin.
If you know anything about these guys' public ministry, then you'd know that they very openly condemn the idea of tyrannical leadership and abuse.
If you must, then ask grok. But I'd suggest, if you're actually interested in representing their side well, listening to their actual words in their full context instead of just sound bites on X. Otherwise you're perpetuating the slander of two innocent men.
@cympfa@RightWingWatch And is that true in every single case?
If not, then you need to positively prove that these men abuse their wives and that their wives are not happy, otherwise all you're doing is slandering innocent men and you should stop doing that and repent of that sin before the Lord.
@pmt36@RightWingWatch One of them does a podcast with his wife and she pretty openly talks about this.
So unless you can prove that all of that is a facade, then you're slandering them and you should repent of that sin before the Lord and stop your slander.
Again, any proof of those accusations requarding @Brian_Sauve ? If not, all you're doing is slandering an innocent man and you need to repent of that sin.
And just because I can foresee someone taking this out of context, I am not saying that you need to repent because Brian is some deity that demands your repentance, I'm saying that you need to repent before the Lord for slandering someone who is innocent.
Name a single credible source that supports your speculation.
And by credible I mean someone who knows them, lives near them and has witnessed any abuse, a former church member who has witnessed any of these accusations, police reports, criminal records, lawsuits, or any or all of the above.
Someone who doesn't know them or have first hand witness to these accusations is not a credible source, and neither is online speculation.
I also know for a fact that they regularly condemn everything you just accused them of. Publically. Online. In podcasts.
His wife and him do a podcast, she wrote a book, their church seems healthy(emphasis on that last point). From what I see, they seem happy. Could I be deceived? Sure, in the same way that you could by their critics.
There's positive evidence (listed above) of them bearing good fruit, and all your side has is doubt.
Humor me and go listen to the podcast him and his wife do and see if there's anything that hints at his wife not being happy. Either she's literally being held at gun point and is a really really good actor, or she's actually happy. Go take a listen and judge for yourself.
