Financial Aid explained in the 9 post thread here.

[NPR's Education Team @npr_ed]

1/ Students across the country are in the process of choosing where to go to college.

For many, that decision is tied to a school’s financial aid offer, which often has confusing jargon. So here’s a thread to help navigate the process.

[Salem Public Schools @SalemSchoolsk12]

Due to system wide performance issues with Aspen, the district’s Student Info System provider, the following schools will be mailing home report cards on Friday, June 21st: Bates, Collins, Horace Mann, Witchcraft Heights, Salem High and Salem Prep.

[The SAT Program @OfficialSAT]

We recommend taking the SAT for the first time in the spring of your junior year so you’ll have an opportunity to take it a second time in the fall of your senior year before college application deadlines. https://t.co/pv8GPNQ0C7

Today I was lucky to go on a Walking Tour of the History of Immigtation in Salem curated by our exceptional Intermediate ESL students. We were joined by Mayor Driscoll, the National Park Service, LEAP for Education, and others. What a perfect day for this experience!

"Rather than overload themselves, experts suggests that students concentrate on AP courses they are interested in and feel confident they can pass." AP is not meant to be a GPA booster, take classes you have genuine interest in.

🙌🏾 I still cringe when I hear “guidance counselor” or “guidance lesson”!! We are “Professional School Counselors” and we provide school counseling curriculum (and so much more!!!) The language is so important! #OutWithGuidance #StayGone 👋🏾

[Mr. Contreras @Contreras_Salem]

I was surprised to see the wide use of "guidance counselor" when I moved to Massachusetts. I'm proud to have a degree from a CACREP accredited school, where I learned the importance of the title School Counselor. Please dont call it guidance!
