The Bishop of Hereford backs the Artificial Superintelligence Security Bill, introduced in Parliament by @alexsobel in collaboration with ControlAI.

The bill would prohibit the development of superintelligent AI in the UK, while requiring the UK Government to pursue an international agreement prohibiting its development worldwide. It does this while striking a balance, ensuring the UK can pursue its AI ambitions.

That's changing rapidly, and with it recognition is growing that we need to act to prevent it.

Ex-OpenAI researcher @DKokotajlo says an Anthropic researcher told him he thought there was a 5% chance that when they put Claude in charge of everything at the company, which he thought would be in around a year, it will already be plotting against them.

The Anthropic researcher thought that was "low enough that it's not worth his time to try to get that lower".
