Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are possible this afternoon through tonight which may lead to flash flooding. Areas with the highest risk of flash flooding due to heavy rainfall include urbanized areas and areas that received heavy rainfall over the weekend. #ILwx#INwx
Scattered thunderstorms will persist this afternoon, mainly southeast of a Mendota to Waukegan IL line. Strongest storms will be capable of damaging winds to 60 mph and torrential rainfall which could result in localized flooding. #ilwx#inwx
Joint Preliminary Damage Assessment teams will be out in communities in Chicago and western suburbs starting tomorrow to confirm damage from flooding on July 25-28.
Teams will have IDs and will not enter homes to complete assessments.
