Tim Hill had a 2.05 ERA with the Yankees this year. He didn’t give up a home run vs. a lefty all year (121 AB). He’s given up 1 ER in 10.2 career postseason innings.

If Cortes threw the ball well in bullpen sessions, Tim Hill threw the ball well vs. good to great hitters. Even if he failed that was the right move at the time.

Instead we sit here on a Saturday morning with the “why?” in our heads.
