Our marketing team from @CoopVarsityKE participated in the 𝗦𝘁. 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴'𝘂 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹'𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿 brought together over 1,600 attendees from the neighboring secondary schools, including 𝗦𝘁. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿 and 𝗚𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹. The University representatives sensitized the prospective students on our industry-driven academic programs, that range from 𝟰 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 and 𝟯𝟮 𝗗𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 offered within our 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝟯𝟳 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿'𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 offered at the School of Co-operative and Community Development, School of Business and Economics, and School of Computing and Mathematics.

Further, the Team enlightened the form four leavers on the state-of-the-art facilities, available University Funding avenues for both Government-sponsored and self-sponsored learners. Also, the participants were made aware of the University's 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻, 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲-𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗜𝗢𝗗𝗲𝗟) that provides learners with a flexible online study mode. #EmpoweringCommunities

Yesterday, @CoopVarsityKE received a high-level delegation from the 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳 𝗭𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘄𝗲, led by 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗞𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗸𝗮, the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, which is currently undertaking a benchmark to learn from the success of the Kenyan co-operative movement. The visitors were accompanied by senior officials from @Ushirika_Kenya. This high-level delegation's visit recognizes @CoopVarsityKE's unique mandate and contribution to the co-operative sector and forms part of ongoing efforts by the Government of Zimbabwe to strengthen its co-operative sector through policy, institutional, and capacity development interventions.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗡. 𝗚𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘂, our 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲-𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿 (𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻), who represented the @vc_cuk at the event, expressed that the visit presented a valuable opportunity to showcase the University's achievements, its resolve to strengthen regional partnerships, and deliberate effort to position itself as a leading centre of excellence in co-operative education, research, innovation, and capacity development in Africa.

The brief meeting underscored the University's critical role in championing positive governance and nurturing effective leadership at all levels of education in Kenya. Today's morning session at the Annual @vc_cuk's Forum was facilitated by Ms. Anita Kivulu from the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS), who took staff members through a Sensitization on Customer Centricity and Open Door Policy. During the 2026 National Productivity and Performance Conference that was graced by H.E. Hon. @WilliamsRuto, the President of the Republic of Kenya, at the @KSGKenya (Lower Kabete), @CoopVarsityKE achieved a composite score of 2.2147 for the 2024/25 Financial Year.

The results of the University in the State Corporations Performance Evaluation translated to an “Excellent” rating, down from 2.3293 in FY2023/24. To emerge as the second-runner-up Public University under the functional category and the 7th overall best-performing state corporation, @CoopVarsityKE improved its score by 0.1146 points (about a 4.9% improvement) over last year’s result. The Innovation Club of The Co-operative University of Kenya undertook an insightful session on blockchain technology and financial literacy, facilitated by Zcash.

Students explored the fundamentals of blockchain, digital privacy, and the growing importance of financial privacy in today's digital economy. The beginner-friendly session also introduced Zcash's privacy-focused technology and highlighted opportunities for young people in the tech space.

Today, @Prof_IKNyamongo, our Deputy Vice Chancellor (ACDRI), officially closed a three-day training workshop on Competency-Based Education (CBE) Training Workshop held at @CoopVarsityKE (Main Campus, Karen) from Wednesday, 3rd June 2026, to Friday, 5th June 2026.

This transformative Workshop was organized by Prof. John Kihoro, Director of the Directorate of Academic Quality Assurance (DAQA), and facilitated by Dr. George Kwenya. The workshop brought together University faculty to deepen their understanding of the principles and philosophy of CBE, design competency-based curricula and learning outcomes, and apply effective CBE approaches in coaching, mentoring, and assessment.

Participants developed practical skills on how to develop competency-based lesson plans and rubrics, explored strategies to strengthen quality assurance mechanisms for CBE implementation, and worked on institutional action plans to support the successful adoption and implementation of the Competency-Based Education in the University.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, @Prof_IKNyamongo underscored and reaffirmed the University's deliberate efforts to retool the faculty and commitment to building a learner-centered, outcomes-driven academic environment that responds to evolving educational needs and national priorities as @CoopVarsityKE prepares to receive the first cohort of CBE learners in 2029.
