Doncaster 12.25 Jordans Cross 2/1
Cheltenham 12.40 The Jukebox Kid 7/4 NEXT BEST
Cheltenham 1.50 Jagwar 7/2
Doncaster 2.05 Joyeux Machin 15/2 each way
Lingfield 2.32 A Perfect Day 11/4
Cheltenham 3.00 Conman John 7/4 NAP
Cheltenham 3.35 Jubilee Alpha 15/8
I have been waiting to see JORDANS CROSS out again. He impressed running on strongly to peg back Spadestep at Aintree on chase debut and then looked like he was going to follow up at Cheltenham before coming down at the last. He has more to come especially over this trip and is a horse I want to keep on side.
No surprise to see THE JUKEBOX KID at the top of the betting. He looks a really promising young staying chaser and was much the best first time over fences at Carlisle last month. He has more to come up beyond 3 miles here and I expect him to follow up with the yard and jockey both in great form. There is quite a bit of pace on so it will be interesting to see if they go forward with him or tuck in but either way I think he'll be tough to beat.
The switch to fences brought out the best in JAGWAR last season. He won 4 from 5 and looked hugely progressive. It was a shame he missed the November meeting but arrives here fresh as a result and should pick up where he left off. This is competitive but he is a horse with huge potential and I think he could prove a cut above and I expect the 7/2 to get even shorter come post time.
I'm keen to take a chance on the top-weight here JOYEUX MACHIN. He has been given a couple of spins over hurdles to get fit and now back over fences he looks handicapped to have a big say in the finish. Harry Atkins is good value for his 7lb claim and he appeals as being overpriced in an open race. I know the yard have Prince Zaltar in the race too but I've seen them do that before and the bigger price of the pair goes and wins.
I'm expecting A PERFECT DAY to prove tough to beat here. He bolted up on hurdles debut at Wincanton and then ran well on reappearance to finish third at Chepstow. That form has already been well advertised with the runner-up Analiese beating another improver in Hard Dealt at Uttoxeter. He has more to come up to nearly 3 miles here and is good value to come out on top.
I'm pleasantly surprised to see CONMAN JOHN as big as 7/4 here. He is unbeaten over hurdles having won narrowly at Kelso on debut over timber before winning impressively at this track back in October. The runner-up Great Fleet and the fifth Kasino Des Mottes have both won since so the form is working out. He has more to come especially over this trip and I can see him landing the hat-trick here.
I can't help but feel Cobden should have won on JUBILEE ALPHA at Wincanton. He was just over confident if anything and gave her too much to do. She made a bad error when being rushed to close 2 out and just couldn't recover in time. She will come on bundles and looks a great bet to reverse form with Sweet Caryline and come out on top now. She won here on final start last season so the track suits and she is a mare who is still armed with a great deal of potential.

Newbury 11.55 La Conquiere 13/8 NAP
Newbury 12.30 Booster Bob 5/1 each way
Newcastle 2.00 Constitution Hill 13/8 NEXT BEST
Fairyhouse 2.25 Skylight Hustle 9/4
Newcastle 2.35 Brace For Landing 13/8
Wolverhampton 7.00 Baloo's Blues 4/1
With Kingston Queen out this looks a great chance for LA CONQUIERE to follow up that Uttoxeter win and make it a perfect 2-2 over hurdles. She came with a strong late run to get up and the second has already won easily since to boost that form. She is improving all the time and is a mare worth keeping on side.
I have always been a fan of BOOSTER BOB and he did well last season with his attentions turned to chasing winning twice. The way he stayed on to win at this track on final start was really taking and upped in trip on return he could be capable of further improvement now. Both Leader In The Park and Bhaloo should go forward and an honest gallop will definitely help him.
The way CONSTITUTION HILL won this race 3 years ago was mightily impressive. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since but he looked good winning fresh at Kempton last season with Lossiemouth trailing so now might be the time to catch him. The yard are obviously bullish and off the front they might always be struggling to keep tabs on him.
Gordon Elliott usually targets this with a good one having won it with the likes of Conflated and Firefox in recent years. SKYLIGHT HUSTLE ran well bumping into one on debut over hurdles at Gowran and is expected to improve plenty from that initial experience. Dysart Dolomite is favourite following that bumper win at Ayr but I feel the selection is better value.
I'd be confident BRACE FOR LANDING is a fair bit better than he showed at Stratford. That run wasn't without promise finishing third but he was beaten quite a long way. He should be fitter now and also this ground will suit him better having come over from France. The yard are still in great form and now handicapping he looks a major player.
I thought there was a lot of promise in that run from BALOO'S BLUES at Salisbury when last seen back in the summer. He was beaten a couple of lengths and given he was slowly away I think you can mark that up. He has a good draw and back on the AW with improvement expected he looks the one to beat in this under Billy the kid.
