@Bitch_itsTOAST never said "being in a relationship is a skill"
seems like we agree tho..
there's a lot of basic skills parents teach that translates to dating/relationships as an adult.
i'm not saying parents are the end all be all.
@Chi_lady_89 your parents are your first teachers. a lot of boys were taught a basic set of rules when interacting with girls: Dont hit girls, open doors, pay for everything, buy her gifts, protect her, walk on the street side.. etc..
They shooting the messenger, but she ain’t wrong. Dating and sex were heavily demonized in a lot of our homes. We were told to stay away from boys and focus on school. The problem is that relationships are a skill set too and many Black women were prepared for careers but left to figure out dating, boundaries, and healthy partnership on our own.
@BombshellCole girls/women don't have have a basic set of rules like this.
sadly a lot of black women are told what not to do for a guy(pessimistic) vs what to do (optimistic)
@BombshellCole 5 Basic things boys(should've) been taught:
1) Don't hit a girl
2) Open doors for ladies
3) walk on the street side
4) Never let her pay for anything when shes around
5) Ladies first.
the list goes on...
@ItsMomoMashhh@Cr7Godbrand what are you talking about? pregnant women are protected & catered to by workplaces. (FMLA, Medical benefits, Leave benefits, LEGAL protections.
@OnlyShidoshi@Biodun_OG And again… I’m not saying she has to change her preference for him.
But telling someone “don’t change for anyone” ignores the reality that compromise and self-improvement are part of every area of life. His mindset of being willing to adjust and grow is valid.
@OnlyShidoshi@Biodun_OG In reality, everyone shows changed behavior for things that matter to them - whether it’s a job, school, social circles, or dating life. If you’re not open to change, you’re not really open to growth.
@OnlyShidoshi@Biodun_OG She stated that she didn’t want to date smokers/drinkers… she knew what to say.. but her ego kept talking.
Compromise, change, alter, adjust is all synonymous.
She NOT right about “you shouldn’t change for anyone”
everybody do it everyday, anyway
@OnlyShidoshi@Biodun_OG Nah the biggest problem in this vid… she said “you’re changing for me” & “you shouldn’t change for anyone”
ladies have become this egotistical 👆🏾
When he’s right - relationships are about compromise.
*Not saying she have to accept a smoker/drinker.
@Bryce_Estelle See the problem with the Internet is a lot of ppl don't know what words mean, they just like how it sounds. They want to act like they're intelligent when in fact, they're the direct opposite.
