@CarverEmily@Iromg I can’t stand the greens but she has not at all wasted an opportunity. She has actually emphasised a very valid point. Whilst any government tries to fuck hospitality over why should it be subsidised in the House of Commons?
@Iromg
@LeeHarris I think further to this there should be a democratic procedure for any party that is voted in and does not stick to manifesto pledges. When we as business have to hire with a level of trust and the candidate is no good we replace them. This should be the same for government.
“The Government do not create jobs; business does.”
Thank you @griffitha for referencing the cost tsunami of business rate rises which will be hitting hospitality businesses today.
Business rate tax hikes will hit every city, town, village and high street in the country.
A perfect representation of life in the UK, Germany and other European countries today: two-tier systems. Unfairness. Colonisation. Violence.
There it is: the most elegant, undeniable portrait of a civilisation being politely asked to step aside. One can only marvel at the fairness of it all.
@ranvir01@kategarraway@GMB Cashless hurts Small businesses and has created another big extra overhead cost in card fees which reduces margins & profitability or leads to inflationary higher prices ! That’s the cost of convenience and fills the pockets of the Big Banks ! Keep cash and Save !
@NailcoteHall@Keir_Starmer@Iromg How is he so blind? The consequences his policies have on the high street and the ‘shop floor’ are so severe. Clueless.
@ManUtd@RainbowDevils We have literally just called out Ratcliffe for political statements and now this. What a joke, everyone is welcome. Why the fuck do you need a different colour stand? It’s all red in old Trafford.
@TRobinsonNewEra@Keir_Starmer@Keir_Starmer does not speak for me. If he or you you find the words Sir Jim used offensive, have a look at the situation that created them.
Imagine living in a country where you hand over your taxes to fund the government to take away freedoms, destroy small businesses, reduce your standard of living, cut public services, give their cronies £million contracts and then end up paying even more tax?
Welcome to Britain.
Britain is broken. Decades of economic decline, increased poverty, crumbling infrastructures and the national confidence destroyed by scaremongering media and bad governments. What we have is a form of corporatism via a gigantic asset and wealth grab against the people.
We are paying our taxes for crumbling public services whilst financing dodgy corporate contracts, humongous sums of money being transferred to Ukraine and net zero and paying for politicians to shit on us with draconian measures. The worst return on investment ever. A gigantic Ponzi scheme.
It’s not just Britain. It’s happening in numerous countries. We have a bunch of governments wilfully causing hardship and loss of freedoms on their own citizens and manipulating societies so that no one agrees on anything because of increased division. The parasitic elites then smash and grab like it's a fire sale of a failed business.
▪️An estimated 500 million people have slipped into poverty since the Covid pandemic began.
▪️ In the UK, the richest 56 people now hold more wealth than 27 million people combined, highlighting the scale of wealth concentration.
▪️Billionaire wealth globally is now $18.3 trillion – its highest level in history.
▪️In 2025, billionaires' wealth jumped by over 16 per cent in 2025, three times faster than the past five-year average.
▪️Extreme wealth is increasingly translating into political power, with billionaires estimated to be 4,000 times more likely to hold political office than ordinary citizens
This is the biggest wealth transfer to the super rich in the history of the planet. Follow the money. That’s ultimately what this is all about.
@benonwine That’s the problem we currently face. We don’t just need Starmer out, we need labour out. Unfortunately I don’t see any process where that is likely anytime soon.
@SteveReedMP You deluded, blinkered and quite frankly brainwashed scumbag. You are literally choking the high streets. The minimum wage increase means no one can employ.
The rise in business rates means business can’t afford to operate.
Enjoy your subsidised living you treacherous cunt.
Labour don’t understand business.
2020 - to employ a 21 year old 40 full time would cost £17,035
2026 - to employ a 21 year old 40 full time would cost £29,600
A 74% increase. Meaning a cafe needs £400k extra turnover just to fund ONE job!
