Tonight was Ff Aileen Munro’s last Drill night, as she has decided to “Retire” after completing 30 years service. We would like to wish her all the very best in her pager free life, and thank you for your Commitment and Professionalism over the years.@fire_scot@FireScot_Chief
Well done to the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team for helping the SSE team gain access to the hilltop Transmitters allowing mobile phones and TV signal to get up and running again in the area. #notjusthillwalkers
Last of our personnel completing their training on the Polaris. Gaining understanding and practical skills to carry out tasks safely, and now able to attend incidents with this valuable asset. Great effort by all.#polaris#sfrs
Congratulations to Ff Alex Rouse, Ff Shona Bragg and Ff Steven Smith, along with Ff Michael Hamilton Inverbervie, and Ff Steven McCabe Braemar, on passing their Green Phase assessment today which now means they are competent Firefighters and loosing their diamonds on their helmets
Both Appliance and Polaris called out yesterday to assist in transporting equipment and personnel to the tragic Train derailment at Stonehaven. Very well done to all crews who attended.
Our thoughts go out to the families of those who lost their lives in this incident.
Appliance mobilised at 0030 this morning to a large shed on fire near Crathie, in a remote location which access, egress and sourcing water proved challenging.
Working alongside a crew from Braemar, fire extinguished and no injuries reported.

A big thanks to whoever left this decorated tile at the entrance to the Fire Station. It’s been attached to the fence so everyone can see. Thanks again from all the emergency Services for your support. 👏👏#SFRS@BraemarMRT#ScottishAmbulanceService@policescotland#CoastGuard
Congratulations to our newest recruit, Ff Andrew Gregory in passing his BA (Breathing Apparatus) training last week. A tough couple of weeks but now able to respond to any call with the rest of the crew. #R38P6

This week we’ve been called to mobilise our Appliance and Polaris ATV to help deal with with 3 significant wildfires. Transporting crews and equipment, and using the high pressure water system, the Polaris proved to be a valuable asset. Well done to all crews for your hard work.
Ballater Community Fire Station showing they’re support for all NHS and key workers who are putting themselves at risk to keep the Country going and keeping us all safe.
Stay safe and remember to keep up your social distancing.

Another brilliant annual refresher thanks to the amazing instructors @DunblaneFire jim and stu and colleagues from @BallaterFire Enhancing knowledge and understanding of navigating different terrains and the hazards to look out for. it was rather cold🥶#M25G6#R38G6
Last of our crew down in Dunblane to assist with refresher training and be assessed themselves so that they can be Instructors for ATV training on Station. Also good to see our Station Commander getting involved, seeing what a valuable asset the Polaris is. Weather wasn’t ideal.
We’ve had more of our colleagues from Ballater Fire Station with us for All Terrain Vehicle training.
Great to have their Station Commander on the course too.
It was colder than it looks..!
🥶🥶🥶
Last night we were called to a well established fire in the roof of a building in Ballater. Working hard with crews from Braemar, Balmoral, Aboyne and a water carrier from Stonehaven, the fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

2019
This year we’ve dealt with incidents locally and assisted crews throughout the Region, held training events and entered into community events. We’ve lost 2 through retirement but gained 1 new recruit and met some fantastic people along the way. Stay safe
