The need for food has been a concern as of late so as always, hope was delivered. Mince, rice & veg as well as slices of bread was handed out to our friends in The Gatjie yesterday (and a lot of sweets too!). Some of the kids had already finished their food before they even left.

The face of a hungry child. Naza is the sweetest little girl but she is also one of the over 300 children & adults that @CopeWithHopeCT feeds. If you're able to assist our food drive in any way please don't hesitate to reach out to us 🙏🏻

Our kids said they were hungry so @CopeWithHopeCT delivered. We handed out over 250 sandwiches & cup of soup sachets to all the kids & adults in The Gatjie today. Little Gracelynn jumped right in 😂 we also handed out 3 bags full of toys, Springbok rugby team marbles & dogfood 🙏🏻

We spent 6 hours in The Gatjie yesterday replacing 2 roofs of 3 elderly residents who were getting soaked & sick during the rains. With rain forecast today, these residents will have their first dry night in months.

Yesterday we hosted our huge winter shoe hand out. All 250 residents in The Gatjie received brand new name brand shoes & socks. We served roast veg, roast chicken & rice & the big surprise - a live video call with Springbok Captain Siya Kolisi (videos on youtube & facebook!)

From offers of play dates to the offer of a free bursary for Darren to do online homeschooling, the support has been amazing.

It breaks the spirit. A 10 year old boy should not be too scared to return to school & say that he doesn't want to be here anymore. We will be monitoring the situation & doing daily check in's with Darren 🙏🏻

Preparation has begun for tomorrow's big hot food hand out for our friends in The Gatjie & the homeless 🍽️

Ambrosia Catering is busy peeling, chopping & cooking the amazing food that will be served tomorrow. Perfect food for the very cold weather forecast for tomorrow 🙏🏻

When people ask if I have children, I say yes, over 100. That initial look of shock on their face is always funny to see (I eventually have to explain). The amazing Cope with Hope Juniors & Teen-2-Teen Youth Program Teens will always be my priority 🙏🏻

There are 2 relatively new homeless ladies in Diep River. @CopeWithHopeCT bought lunch from a local eatery & treated them to lunch at one of the local parks this afternoon. We listened to their story & got to know them. This is what we do. We care.

Another cold & wet day for @CopeWithHopeCT yesterday:

4 pots of vegetable soup handed out to over 200 people.

48 birthday cupcakes handed to the birthday girls.

Some cough syrup administered to a sick 6 year old.
