How about giving your State Employees raises so we can afford to continue working for the State of NC? Need better pay and benefits especially working the the DAC. In WNC you have 4 COs watching over >900 offenders at night. Day shift is struggling too and seasoned officers and nurses are leaving because of pay, being forced to pick up extra shifts, and staffing shortages. Need increased pay, 20yr retirement, and improved benefits.

This doesn’t add value to our lives. They are minimally staffed, take up a large quantity of land, the lights at night are terrible, taking away land for wildlife, and you want to do this instead of focusing on NC State’s safety and ability to afford to feed families. This is definitely going to help the housing crisis 🙄

The Prisoners have so many resources already and are treated better than the staff that work in the prisons. There are barely enough staff to accommodate Offender movements especially with the mass bus movements that are completed on a regular basis costing too much tax payer dollars and risking the safety of offenders and staff. It’s also allowing the movement of drugs from one facility to another.
