Social media is our first exposure to ordinary psychology at scale - in a way humanity is seeing itself for the first time
Current dialectic is to a) lie about it or b) get mad about it, but once we make peace with it there will be a great renaissance in the science of the mind
Everyone is being way too mean to the guy who says he can't spend more than 10 minutes around his kid. Did anyone even think to ask him how many continents he would vaporize, how many countries he would vanquish, to see his son smile? Didn't think so.
fairly normal day-to-day communication for the average person is not a strange and indecipherable mystery, it is a mystery to you because you've got a neurodevelopmental disorder that primarily effects the parts of your brain that parse human behaviour
when I was in second grade there was a boy being mean to a girl. I told him "how would that make you feel?" and he said "bad" and I said "well why are you doing it then" and he said "because I want her to feel bad". and I started crying.
