Paul's greeting to #Philemon may have been standard for him, but it carries a great depth of meaning: "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." (Philemon v3, ESV). Defined as the favour of God and fellowship with God.

Of the several events recorded in the #Bible, only the #resurrection of Christ resulted in new, everlasting life. It is the same resurrection that all #Christians look forward to!

#Advent is not about the arrival of chocolate in the shops but the arrival of #Christ in the world. #John3v16 reminds us that "God so loved the world that He gave His only Son...".

Is it enough just to ignore or complain about #falseteaching in the #church? Paul's advice to #Titus - rebuke them (Titus 1v13-14) so they don't lead others astray. A helpful and timely reminder from yesterday evening's sermon.

On days of relativism and conflicting views, the #Bible is clear: There is one God, and one mediator between God and men [human beings], the man Christ Jesus.

A challenging question from one of our midweek study/prayer groups tonight: we believe that God is working all things together for His glory and our good, but how do we as His church stay focused when we see few conversions etc? #sovereigngod #faithfulchurch
