📰Oil Oversupply ahead?

The IEA now expects a global oil surplus of up to 4 million barrels per day in 2026, driven by OPEC+ lifting production cuts faster than planned and rising output from the US, Canada, Brazil, and Guyana. At the same time, demand growth remains weak, held back by slower economic growth and the ongoing electrification of transport.

Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan also anticipate a soft oil market, with prices under pressure despite projected $Brent prices around $56–58 per barrel. Overproduction combined with tepid demand could lead to continued price pressure, benefiting consumers via lower energy costs and easing inflation, especially in the US.
