I’d rather be a Mormon than an Evangelical. One openly rejects historic Christianity, admitting it's a restorationist movement, the other delusionally believes it's the historic Christian faith.
After 10 years of mixed content, I feel that the time of online theology debate for me has come to a close. No one has of yet told me to say this - it’s a decision I’ve pondered for a while. It seems as if online theology debate is pretty much done.
Originally, an Orthodox catechism involved a few years of purification. The catechumen practiced the noetic prayer under the guidance of an illumined elder until their nous was no longer preoccupied with the world. Then, once the elder perceived this, the catechumen was baptized.
I’m definitely anti-Augustinian.
Orthodox typically call him blessed but they don’t consider him authoritative.
I’m a Chrysostom guy, he is the GOAT of reading and writing in the original Greek.
