Solidarity with the working class of Los Angeles fighting back against evictions, rent increases, and landlord abuse. Tenant Power is Working Class Power ✊
Thousands of families are facing eviction due to rent debt & many have already been forced onto the streets. @LaCityCouncil must pass a housing wage to #KeepLAHoused
We need to make updates if we actually want to protect tenants like Elsy so they feel safe in their homes!
According to the LA Controller’s Office, 50,000 evictions were filed in the city from January to July of this year. 96% of those evictions were for unpaid rent debt. LA workers & tenants deserve to earn a fair wage that allows them to afford housing! #RaisetheWagesLowerTheRent
Pre-pandemic almost ⅓ of Angelenos spent 50% + of their income on rent. Today, things have only gotten worse. Thousands of families are facing eviction due to rent debt & many have already been forced onto the streets. @LaCityCouncil must pass a housing wage to #KeepLAHoused
In the Barrington Plaza apartment complex, 500+ tenants are being put on the streets because Douglass Emmett is fraudulently using the Ellis Act to avoid statewide tenant protections. We need SB 567 to stop LLs from filing renovictions as a ruse to increase rents. #KeepLAHoused
Despite the Aug. ‘23 and Feb. ‘24 repayment deadlines, many LL's have already been evicting tenants & demanding the ENTIRE $$ of unpaid rent. @LACityCouncil do right by your tenants & protect them from rent debt, evictions, & homelessness! #KeepLAHoused
The recent strikes underscore that it is not just a few who are struggling to keep up with the skyrocketing cost of living, but the majority of working class people in LA. Tenants & workers rise up and join us on Sept 30th to demand... #RaiseTheWagesLowerTheRent ✊🗣️

In the city of LA a worker must earn $33.65/hr to be able to afford a 1 bedroom apt, but the min. wage is $16.78. Nobody should have to work 3 jobs to afford housing. It is clear that the rent is too damn high and the wages are too damn low! #KeepLAHoused
Are you working longer hours for fewer dollars? Have you been evicted or facing a rent increase? Then join us- tenants & workers on Saturday, September 30, in DTLA to urge @LACityCouncil to #RaiseTheWagesLowerTheRent
Join us Sunday, January 15, at 2pm to celebrate our win! We wouldn’t be able to do this without y’all so we want to extend this invite to everyone.
It’s going down rain or shine! Thank you for your continued love n support.

(1) WE GOT ALL 4 BUILDINGS!
Thank you to everyone who shared our posts, wrote emails, made calls, who called out BU! Thank you to everyone who showed up to our press conferences, donated supplies to us, created posters with us, and/or donated food or funds for food for us.
(4) And we will continue to fight for it.
Boston University accepted our offer because of all the pressure we put them under as a collective, as a community.
And the buyer for the 5605 Corbett building probably felt that pressure as well and decided to fall back!
