Netherlands should be forever grateful to Van Basten & co. for Euro '88. Without that trophy, calling them a top football nation would be a much tougher sell.

I don't mind a 48-team WC. Problem is who gets in. Qualification system is a joke. Too many horrible teams from weaker confeds get in while some proper football nations miss out.

Also, every WC winner in history should be guaranteed a spot. Same for reigning continental champs.

@RYOmoha Nah, Brazil are way worse than Italy.
Italy at least won Euro 2020 and qualify through a much harder system (not to mention Jorginho's penalties). Brazil finished 6th in qualifiers and still made it. Even their last WC win in 2002 was scandalous.
