For years, people have debated whether multivitamins actually do anything for your health.
New research suggests they might.
In a large randomized clinical trial published in Nature Medicine, researchers analyzed biological aging in nearly 1,000 older adults using epigenetic clocks. These tools measure how quickly the body is aging at the cellular level.
After 2 years, participants taking a daily multivitamin showed slower biological aging, equivalent to about 4 months less aging than in the placebo group.
The effect was strongest among participants whose biological age was higher than their chronological age at the start of the study.
Why does this matter?
Biological age reflects how quickly your body is aging internally and doesn’t always match the number of years you’ve lived. Faster biological aging is linked to a higher risk of chronic disease and earlier mortality.
While researchers say more studies are needed, the findings highlight an important idea in longevity science:

Case Insight: When PSA Isn’t Enough
A man in his 60s recently presented to CoreViva for a preventive whole-body MRI scan. He had a recent PSA s within the normal range (<4 ng/mL), and he had no known prostate concerns.
However, MRI revealed a suspicious lesion in the left peripheral zone of the prostate.
The patient underwent a targeted biopsy, which confirmed prostate cancer.
