Today’s @IBEW103 & @necaboston#HeroAmongUs is an HBCU alumna who reactivated Boston’s Spelman College Alumnae Club. Sheena Collier helped raise over $10K for prospective Spelman students and launched a network creating a welcoming space for Black Bostonians.
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on what they mean to each other:
Doncic: “Nothing but supportive of everything I did…Just helped me mature a lot, realize to see the game in a different way, and obviously on the court it’s amazing to play with a guy like him…The leader he’s been for us, not just for me but for us, he’s been amazing…”
Irving: “I just think this guy next to me has pushed me to continue to work on my game and continue to develop as a young leader and I think the big word we can both agree on is maturity. Coming into Dallas, I was dealing with a lot…They embraced me with open arms…I knew eventually that I would get (Luka) to open up, this guy’s a big teddy bear at times off the court, big competitor. A teddy bear who likes to compete. He’s still ducking me in dominoes…I just have to sit back and marvel at his talent…I enjoy watching him be a father, I enjoy watching him develop as a person first, and then the basketball stuff will take care of it…Good human being, good young man.”
Congratulations! #GoldenGlobes winner Ayo Edebiri '13! So thrilled for and proud of her trajectory from early days in BLS’ own Yellow Submarine Improv Troupe. Ayo won Best TV Female Actress for Comedy Series: The Bear on FX / Hulu. @bls1635blsa
I feel really compelled to say:
Fuck first week sales. They simply don’t matter anymore for the simple fact that no one is buying albums. I mean, when’s the last time anyone you know bought an album?
We all can stream anything we want but in order for it to count as an album sale you need to listen to every song like 1000+ times. They trynna make it seem like everybody flopping when it reality they changed the rules.
So someone plz tell me why the fuck is anybody still worried about that? They trynna take the power from the musician because they never learned how to measure influence properly.
At this point, just shut the fuck up and enjoy the music.
Earlier this month, the City of Boston and @naicob91 opened Native American Heritage Month with a ceremonial fire on City Hall Plaza. Gathered together with Indigenous leaders and community members, we reflected on the sacred role of fire in Indigenous communities.
We had a lot of fun yesterday at @MadisonParkTVHS equipment day. It gets better each year with great kids!! Thanks to @CoreyJ_Allen for helping set everything up with the school, this man does so much for Boston’s youth!
