Jesus said there was no greater love than to lay down your life for others. Jesus did it and so did those who gave the last full measure of devotion to the country they loved and the freedoms we enjoy. #wethankyou#truelove
Becoming a follower of Jesus isn’t about some mental acknowledgement but pledging your allegiance to King Jesus. The faith of Abraham caused him to leave his father, family and the future he expected and go to a land of promise when he had no proof. That’s the faith of Abraham
Sometimes in the church we make it all about us, but really, it’s all about them. If we’re fulfilling the Great Commission then the US is always growing and the THEM is always shrinking. But the focus is always on those who don’t yet believe instead of those who do.
The Great Commission is the marching orders for the Church: Make disciples, baptize those disciples and then teach those baptized disciples how to live, love and look more like Jesus. If you do believe, nothings should keep you from being baptized and then learning to obey.
We are supposed to wait for Jesus to return but not twiddling our thumbs in a waiting room, we’re supposed to be active, like a nurse in an ER caring for people who are sick and hurting and hopeless before the Great Physician comes in.
…And not just us, but it helps us share it with others too! When we have a succinct statement like this we can start from anywhere and share it with anyone! Let’s not make this complicated, the Gospel is there to help us help every person possible find real life in Jesus!
To be a follower of Jesus isn’t just a matter of mental ascent or acknowledgement to who He is, it’s a pledge of allegiance to Jesus as your King. If you follow Jesus the King you’ve got to actually follow Jesus, the King. #TheGospel
There is a limited number of acceptable responses to the truth of the Gospel. If Jesus is God’s King who died and rose again that reality requires a response - this is that response: Repent, believe, follow. #TheGospel
Paul told the Christians in Colossians not to shift from the Gospel or to let go of it. Which means, we better know what the Gospel is if we’re supposed to hold tight to it! #TheGospel
If you ask someone what the Gospel is they may all have a different opinion. For most of us the Gospel has been more conceptual than concrete. Maybe nobody told you or explained it, maybe nobody knew. It’s time to change that. #TheGospel
Wake up and celebrate! Every person ever is now declared sinless because of Jesus! We don’t miss heaven because of our sin, we miss heaven because we miss the Savior. If we refuse His sacrifice we reject His salvation. Today, worship Jesus for what He has done for everyone!
Jesus death wasn’t just about paying our sin debt, but becoming our living Advocate before the Father, defending us by His life and blood, from our accuser. The accuser will point to our sin, our advocate will point to His sacrifice.
It’s not really a secret but if you can’t kill The King and The King’s servants aren’t afraid to lose their lives (as though that were possible) you’re fighting a Kingdom that will never be conquered.
When Jesus came proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom He said that the Kingdom had come and that He’s the King who would die and come back to life. If you don’t believe in THIS King you don’t believe in The King.
This Kingdom is as different as its King. This Kingdom isn’t after world domination or violent overthrows, it’s about surrender, love and obedience to the King who gave His life for others. This Kingdom isn’t of this world so it doesn’t function like this world.
Paul said there are some important pieces of info to know about Jesus and the first one is, He died. This King isn’t like any other King, He didn’t just conquer His enemies He conquered THE enemy, death.
