Knowing who to contact can help us respond faster to emergencies.
🚨 Call 9-1-1 when someone's safety is at immediate risk or a crime is happening right now.
📞 Use the Police Reporting Unit, online reporting, or the non-emergency line for incidents that don't require an immediate police response.
Making the right choice helps keep emergency lines available for those who need them most.
~
Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦 from the crew working behind the scenes at the dispatch centre! While many are out celebrating, they’re keeping things running smoothly.
Wishing everyone a safe and joyful day!
Going to leave this right here to think about. Everyday police officers and communicators /911 operators deal with traumatic events. Someone’s worse day is their everyday! It’s ok not to be ok💙
Just after 6 am this morning, a 41-year-old female in crisis jumped into the Rideau Canal between Bronson Ave. and Bank St.
Once in the water, the female held onto a ledge and screamed for help. A cyclist came by and saw her, held onto her hand and called 911.
Nightshift Patrol Officers arrived on scene within 5 minutes, pulled the female from the water and carried her up to an area that could be reached by paramedics.
The female was treated for mild exposure and taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

Hey @FlixBus despite contacting customer service ahead of time, the driver couldn’t use the wheelchair lift to get me on the bus? He piggybacked me into the bus & I had to crawl/slide on the ground to get off? How is unacceptable? The driver wouldn’t give me my cushion either

Happy Paramedic Services Week! This week we recognize paramedics and the dedicated individuals that support their works at dispatch, logistics, administration and many more. Together, we care for everyone in our community and can make a real difference. Thank you for all you do!
I do not stand with the views represented by my association. (The association I pay dues to, and the one presenting a stance that is grossly misaligned from mine.) Their individual rights of expression should not be misconstrued as rights to represent a collective.
Difficult night for our OPS Family, Sadly another Officer lost his battle with his demons last night. This is happening one too many times these days. Please take care of yourselves, there is no shame in asking for help. No one needs to be alone dealing with the demons💙
