Oil has dozens of global suppliers. When one source gets disrupted, others fill the gap.
Domestic rare earth alloys are different. There is no backup supplier. There is no strategic reserve. If rare earth alloys disappeared tomorrow, the F-35 production line at Lockheed Martin would go silent. EVs stop rolling off the line. Missile guidance systems, radar arrays, wind turbines - all of it depends on permanent magnets made from rare earth metals that almost no one outside China can produce.
We still cannot imagine the scale of the problem and the concentration of rare earth manufacturing in China. It isn't 30% or 50%; it goes above 90%.
Neodymium surged to the $130-150/kg range in China, while quoted metal prices outside China were already around $220/kg.
Dysprosium prices in China hit the ~$240–250/kg range in March.
Terbium is now holding in the $1,000-1,100/kg range, and at a multiple of every other rare earth used in high-performance magnets.
Outside of China, everyone’s paying a massive premium for rare earths. Europe and the U.S. are sometimes paying 2.5-3X of these prices. Neodymium moves closer to the $210-$200 range, while Terbium and Dysprosium shoot through the roof, towards $900/kg for Dysprosium and over $4,000/kg for Terbium, depending on its form.
@realloys NASDAQ: $ALOY is the only rare earths manufacturer that is not building into China prices, but into the premium outside China.
REalloys operates a facility in Euclid, Ohio, with 30 years of metallurgy expertise, active Pentagon contracts, and a proven capability in the Western Hemisphere to metallize rare earths
Their operations are scaling, especially around their partnership with the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), which is building North America's first fully integrated, commercial rare earth processing facility.
And they are still the only ones ready for January 1, 2027, when new U.S. defense procurement rules under DFARS and 10 U.S.C. §4872 take effect. After that date, Chinese-origin rare earth materials cannot be used in American defense systems.
Pay attention.

Officially introducing Moe Levin, our COO!
From helping Ethereum launch, to being an advisor at RNDR, to being an early investor in Kraken, Moe has launched multiple billion-dollar projects, secured multiple hundreds of millions in investments and orchestrated partnerships with some of the most legendary entities in blockchain, spanning a career of over 12 years in blockchain. He has hosted the longest-running crypto events since 2013, run significant government crypto projects since 2015, started several communities and helped to write federal blockchain strategies.
Here’s a statement from Moe explaining his background and reinforcing the main ideas of our project:
“I’ve been asked multiple times why I decided to join the $SHROOM project, and honestly, it’s because I see a lot of similarities between $SHROOM and the early days of Bitcoin. Community-led innovation. At the first event I hosted, attendees often commented how nice it was to “put a face to a username”; to finally meet the people they’ve interacted with online and share a drink. I often consider myself a crypto boomer. I’ve seen cycle after cycle of growth and decline, and sadly, the community has grown increasingly fragmented. When I looked at the community of artists and individuals that Trippy Labs has created, I saw glimpses of what the crypto community used to be. Collaborative, innovative and most of all fun. Rewriting traditional finance, art, education and more requires the most intelligent people in the room to collaborate to build the most outstanding projects. I see that in Trippy Labs’ community and the $SHROOM community. $SHROOM is a collaborative project whose growth is limited only by the community’s imagination, which is limitless.
In early 2013, I met Vitalik and Mihai when they bought Bitcoin Magazine from a friend. They spoke about Bitcoin magazine at my first event (the industry’s first Bitcoin event) in 2013, and Vitalik talked about quantum computing and how to buy his magazine using Bitcoin. Fast forward a few months, and Vitalik and I grew closer, and I provided the platform for them to launch at my Miami 2014 North American Bitcoin Conference. I helped them with early tokenomics, community building and ETH launch. The token sale lasted 42 days, and you could get 2000ETH for 1BTC. Crazy times.
After that, I launched events globally in Chicago, Los Angeles, Belgium, Dubai, Miami, London, Singapore, and more, hosting over 200,000 attendees and 3000+ companies. I joined some companies as an advisor (most recently RNDR token) and invested in countless projects and exchanges. I continue to be active in many communities globally and am personal friends with the founders of almost every large-cap project in the space.
It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for $SHROOM and not without its challenges. Still, we’re staying hyper-focused on building exciting and innovative products with the greatest minds in the industry. What we are working on internally will soon bear fruit, and we can’t wait to showcase it to the world.
Lastly, I am looking forward to continuing to work with our great team and hearing any and all suggestions on how to improve. Building this is a two-way street, and the community’s suggestions are already paying dividends and informing our work going forward.”
