One of my first memories as a child was my late father, as we walked up the bóithirín to our house, that an Irishman had won a Gold Medal in the Olympics. Having watched that final since, it was a masterful display of grit, timing & sheer class. When we went to Melbourne with the International Rules Official Gaa team, one of the first thingS we did was run the ‘Ronnie Delaney’ mile on the Melbourne track. I got to know Ronnie well, especially when I was Uachtarán CLG. He was a great character & thorough gentleman. Look where his legacy has brought us now as our athletes grace the world stage with great success. Ronnie, pride of Ireland, inspiration to us all.

Thought I better get in there nice and quick! RIP Chris Rea. You'll always be Driving Home for Christmas in this house. Doubt you would have wanted a Paddington meme, mate, but I'm feeling festive ❤️
@Cathal_Dennehy Putting my neck on the line on this one - but I believe that this is Wexford's first Euro Cross medal. I also cannot think of a single other Wexford athlete to have ever competed at Euro Cross.
Super start to the European Cross Country for Ireland as 16-year-old Emma Hickey from Wexford, who has three (!) years left at U-20 level - wins bronze in the women's U-20s.
A fine 6th too from Anna Gardiner.
British star Innes Fitzgerald utterly dominant - wins by 32 seconds
@Debss2500 English National Ballet and my former student Philip Walsh from Wexford hugely involved in the production. What a wonderful surprise to entertain passengers
