We're controlling general play, they're making the most of their chances and but I'm very happy with our forwards pressuring them on the way out. That sets up every defensive structure. Absolutely deserve to be in front. Carn! #weareportadelaide

Really pleased with Bergman, Berry and Burgoyne but give Vis and Sweet some credit, we've not allowed easy hitouts to advantage by dropping it to Drew and Butters who are winning it in tight.

Put the 6 goals aside, that term is a nod to Carr and his team making decisions in the back half of the first quarter, deliver the message at quarter time and the players responded by executing it.

Whitlock, Berry are exciting. Marshall is valuable.
Bergman is mobile (again).

Not unexpected, Hawthorn elite midfield and defensively allowing their forwards to play their natural games.

Happy we fought back and showed we can control territory if we break even at the contest and pressure them in their back half.

Long day ahead though.

What can we hope for?
I'd like to see us move the ball faster through the midfield. I'll cop errors if we make mistakes having a go. If we make mistakes going sideways and backwards?

Defensively. Pressure.
Midfield. Throw it around.
Forward. Give options.

Disappointing day.

Kelly and Reid took over in the midfield and for 2 quarters controlled the game. Our midfield couldn't counter them for long enough to have an impact.

When the mids get beat the forwards starve. They starved for an hour.

Well. From a very positive opening moving the ball with forward handball we got held up by a more organised WCE midfield slowing our transition down. I'll expect some more play in footy in this term. #AFLPowerEagles #weareportadelaide

Great transition footy. Lai (smart start) Drew, Butters all good mid/back, forwards lining up and working for each other making space, midfield holding better in defensive set up allowing the big backs to set up on the last line. Good start. #AFLPowerEagles #weareportadelaide

A wins a win they say and we’ll take the 4 points after defeating Essendon by 63 points at Adelaide Oval on Sunday but we’ll take it on advisement.
