@BrianofCS@kalezelden Yeah, a lot of these posts give me the “this system is terrible but I’d never abandon it.”
They don’t want to give up their high status game they are in, they just want to go from the losers to the winners.
“I’m so lonely no one will date me”
“I’ll date you”
“No you’re ugly”
@Lance_Cleaver I hate all the close minded people in the TLC who push people out. I would throw them off a cliff and build a wall to make sure they never get in.
I heard a tech CEOs say that at the end of his life he wants an AI to say “Not a bad job for a human.”
I guess, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” needed a rebrand.
I’ve seen a scam on YT videos where bots work together in comment sections to make it seem that a person is a finance guru.
This is the first time I’ve seem them employ culture war tactics to get eyeballs.
Scammers now know what binds and blinds us.
Been enjoying a lot of tech podcasts lately but I cringe when they say “we’re not political” or “technology will solve all these (political) problems”.
Like science and tech are so above the problems of silly little humans and their silly little world.
Whether a physicist, financial analyst, or plucky young kid, positioning yourself as “the only one who sees the truth and everyone else is crazy” seems like a tough identity. How long can that be true for and who do you trust to let you know it’s over?
Learning to apologize is one of the most valuable skills someone can develop.
Allowing yourself to acknowledge wrong doing and correct actions without it turning it into self hatred or resentment is a harder to develop than I originally thought.
@Titan69FTW Completely shooting from the hip.
Certainty vs uncertainty
Just f****** get it done.
Vs
We must make space for the unknown
It’s cool see arenas of high certainty connect with low certainty like the no. 1 golfer talking about how it’s just a game

Has anyone else noticed how “religious language” went from very low class even 5 years ago to now it being all the rage in the AI era?
Is religion coming back to the surface

I’ve internalize the idea that there is a “correct books to read”.
If I go to read something there is the dance of “Do I have the right background? Is there a better author on this topic? Does this book secretly suck?”
Advice to myself: read the book you’re excited to read.
