The victim of the assault has been taken by ambulance to hospital to begin his recovery. The window is now being boarded up and the scene closed down.

We’ve just arrived at the scene of a serious assault in #Shaw where it’s been reported an elderly man’s window was smashed before he was assaulted by a man outside.

The victim’s in a stable condition and will shortly be going to hospital.

Our initial enquiries are ongoing.

Officers have also been to #Greenfield after a collision between a van and a child pedestrian.

The child thankfully doesn’t need hospital treatment and is at home with her family. A minor RTC report is being submitted.

Elsewhere, officers have helped return an elderly missing woman from #Oldham to her family after she was found lost in #Warrington. Necessary safeguarding is being put in place.

A call’s come in about concern for a man at an apartment block in #Chadderton who’s reported two people using his flat to use drugs.

We’ve attended and the man is okay. Local partners will be helping to re-home him and we’ll be submitting appropriate care plans.

Thankfully the woman was brought to safety and is being returned to a mental health ward for specialist care.
